OFFICIAL: Robin van Persie signs in as new Feyenoord head coach until 2027

Robin van Persie is the new head coach of Feyenoord. SC Heerenveen, where Van Persie leaves, has just announced.

Herenveen General Director Ferry de Haan responds to the departure with disappointment: “Robin has informed us that he did not want to miss this unique opportunity at Feyenoord. Although we understand his ambition, the timing in the middle of the season is very awkward for us. We started an adventure together and would have liked to finish the current season. Despite his short time with us, we wish Robin good luck in Rotterdam. As SC Heerenveen, we will now immediately orient ourselves on filling the technical staff. “

'A real club icon'

Feyenoord responds enthusiastically to the arrival of Van Persie. In a press release, the club writes: “We are delighted that we can designate a real club icon with Robin van Persie as the new coach of Feyenoord 1,” says Managing Director Dennis te Kloese. “Robin knows the club incredibly well and knows exactly what is needed to achieve results.”

Van Persie was employed by Feyenoord until last summer and then as a coach of Feyenoord under 18 and the UEFA Youth League team of the Stadium Club. After a short period at his first Premier League club, he now returns to Rotterdam as head coach.
