Hulk Hogan branded UFC ‘too violent’ and rejected offer to get involved with MMA during its infancy

'Hulkamania' could have walked in a cage in your area, but the visuals of the sport were considered unpleasant.

Hulk Hogan remains one of the most identifiable entertainment stars on the planet, regardless of whether it is in a four -sided ring or not.

Because MMA became a real and recognized product, the sport has had ties with professional wrestling, which has never been so true now that WWE and UFC are under the same TKO banner.

There have been several iconic names that appeared in both worlds from Brock Lesnar to Ronda Rousey, together with several who came close to make the leap like the Undertaker.

Although Hogan appeared at the last UFC event of 2024 to leave Colby Covington, the former face of Sportsainment does not have the same love for the octagon he does for the square circle.

Hulk Hogan once said he was almost involved with MMA, but thought it was “too violent”

Hulk Hogan is perhaps not the most beloved figure in the present time, but it is not to be denied that 'The Hulkster' was an incredibly powerful brand completely alone for a long time.

The MMA sport could have had a completely different process if the former WWE super star had made the decision to attach his name to the UFC or another combatant possession.

In an interview with the Herald Sun of Australia in 2015, Hogan revealed that MMA was something that at one point encountered his radar in the past, but he decided not to pursue this as a business enterprise because he was looking at the visual experience of viewing it Didn't like.

Although MMA fans have probably become somewhat insensitive at the moment, the biggest obstacle to new eyes will be the violence and that is especially clear in a specific part of a fight.

Instead of a referee who sends the hunter back to his corner and start a count of 10, as in boxing, Hogan was not a fan of the athletes who continue to harm their opponent until the referee enters to wave the fight.

“We looked at it and it was very violent and the referees did not stop the matches and let boys be beaten up when they should have stopped,” he said.

“So we just didn't want to be part of it, but it has become quite a phenomena.”

Hulk Hogan is not always a reliable source about the history of Hulk Hogan

Everyone who has been to struggle in and all over the world will know that Hulk Hogan likes to tell stories from the past and that they are not always true.

Together with statements about competitions that have been false or never even happened, 'The Hulkster' is famous for different stories about enormous opportunities that have just passed him by.

From the almost member of Metallica to the original face of the George Foreman Grill, Hogan has many of these stories, but one of his most famous is MMA.

He previously claimed that he was asked to come to the UFC in 1993, together with saying that he defeated former Pride hunters in the 1970s, twenty years before the promotion was founded.

It is sufficient to say that it is worth remarks from Hogan with a pinch of salt.
