Their 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in San Siro saw Inter win their quarterfinals 4-3.
Inzaghi noted afterwards: “These are nights that will stay with us. We had to play two great games and we did them, it was great. You will find opponents of great caliber, but I am lucky that I have great men.
“It was very important, and that is why I say that the difference in the new Champions League is in this, in the two extra games. And that is why we had a few more problems compared to last year.
“For the rest, the Champions League does not forget. You have to have great intensity. The boys were very good, we played two great matches between the first and second legs.”
Immediately asked what the secret of his success is as an intercoach, Inzaghi was adamant.
He insisted: “How good the boys are tonight. It was enough to see (Joaquin) Correa, (Piotr) Zielinski and (Denzel) Dumfries tonight who seemed like they were on the couch with us.
“They all help each other, they know that by playing so much that they are all useful for the cause and they are ready.”
