Arne Slot thinks Man Utd are making a ‘classy’ signing as Ruben Amorim speaks out

While the first summer transfer window of Ruben Amorim is getting closer, Liverpool -Baas Arne Slot offered his honest opinion about one of the top goals of Manchester United

Liverpool -Manager Arne Slot believes that Manchester United will sign a quality player in Matheus Cunha if they can buy the Brazilian. The Wolverhampton Wanderers Forward has enjoyed an impressive campaign, despite the fact that the majority of the season is fighting.

Cunha, however, has made no secret of his wish to leave Molineux, which states that he intends to “follow my dreams” in a now deleted Instagram post. Many of the top five in England circling around the ex-Atletico Madrid-Man, with United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa who show interest in his services.

It is understood that the representatives of Cunha welcomed the interest of United, who could possibly see his salary doubled to £ 180,000 a week, after the club had made their first step for him earlier this week. Given his earlier admiration for the South America, Slot can be disappointed if the Merseysiders miss him.

In February, Slot was asked for Cunha, who this season contributed 14 goals and four assists in 28 Premier League performances. The boss of Liverpool said: “Matheus Cunha is a quality player.

“He has the quality to play for one of the top five teams in England. If you go to the Dutch competition and look at the team in 17th place, there is no player who could play for Ajax, PSV or Feyenoord.”

A matter of days after the words of Slot found the net in Molineux, but was still on the losing side, because goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah achieved a 2-1 victory for the Reds.

Reports from the Manchester Evening News Claim United are looking movements for Cunha and Ipswich Town Striker Liam Delap. However, it also states that United has to sell some of their current attackers, with on-leen stars Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony that are expected to be sold.

The blunt attacking power of United means that the club looks to end the Premier League season with a minus target difference for the second consecutive campaign. It is understanding that Cunha has a release clause of £ 62.5 million in his deal with the Midlanders.

If the Red Devils were to meet that figure, it would be the first time that the club spent more than £ 60 million to a player because Sir Jim Ratcliffe became a minority owner. This year United has passed a tough campaign in the Premier League.

They look for the first time in the Premier League era to finish in the lower half of the table. Their only hope for salvation is in the Europa League, in which the victory would insure them a place in the Champions League of next season.

However, if United would be eliminated by Athletic Bilbao in the semi -final stages, Amorim is not convinced that some players will be put off to join the Reds. Lisbon's former sports manager recently said: “It is Manchester United. What I feel is that there are many players who want to play for our club.

“I know that if you watch our club at the moment – with all the problems with the staff, people who go, change coaches, the results – it seems a bit of a problem. But we have a clear idea. That is the easiest part to explain a player. And then it is Manchester United. Everyone wants to play for Manchester United.”

When asked if Cunha one of the players who is United is answered, “I will not say anything about Matheus, because if I say once, I will have to say for every situation that is yes or no. So I will not comment on that. It is difficult to predict what will happen in the future.”
