Midfielder of Manchester City Kevin De Bruyne will move at the end of the season and Aston Villa will be among the teams interested in signing the Belgium star
Aston Villa is said to weigh a sensational stroke for Kevin De Bruyne after it was confirmed that the Manchester City Maestro will leave the Premier League champions when his contract ends this summer.
De Bruyne, 33, has been one of the most influential players in City over the past decade, so that they helped six league titles and Champions League glory. But the Belgium International recently discovered that he would not get a new deal from the club hierarchy after the disappointing campaign 2024-25 of the city.
The playmaker has already been associated with movements to Saudi Aarabia and the MLS. However, he could still get a chance to extend his stay in the Premier League through ambitious Aston Villa.
That is, according to a new report from Sky Sports, who claim that the Midlands outfit has held 'internal discussions' about a possible step for the midfielder.
Landing De Bruyne would be a large coup for Villa, who get the chance to obtain the Champions League qualification for the second season that runs under the impressive Unai Emery.
Although the competition for De Bruyne's signature this summer is probably fierce, the experienced midfielder has already hinted that he would be open to stay in the Premier League after he refused to exclude the possibility of becoming a member of a domestic rival.
“It came as a bit of a shock. I am open to everything (including stay in the Premier League),” De Bruyne told reporters after the 2-0 victory of City in Everton on the weekend.

“I have to look at the whole picture, sporty, the family, everything together, which is most logical for my family. I don't know what it is. It depends on when you talk to people about projects and things.”
De Bruyne further implied that he did not agree with the decision of the city to separate and said that he still has the feeling that he can do a good job 'for the Premier League champions.
He added: “It was a very short meeting. I don't really feel that I want to share what was said because it was actually more businesslike for them. They just made the decision based on that. It was not really a long conversation. It was exactly what they told me and I have to accept the situation, although I still have the feeling that I can still do a good job, that's it.”
