According to a report from L'Équipe, Aston Villa have sent a second offer to SM Caen for Tidiam Gomis (18). Gomis, a French U19 international, has become an obvious target for the Premier League this winter.
It seems increasingly unlikely that Gomis will serve out the remaining months of his contract with Kylian Mbappé's side. He has long been a target for other clubs who have become interested in his high growth ceiling.
L'Équipe write that Villa are confident they will secure Gomis after raising their opening bid. However, it is noted that they still face competition from RB Leipzig, as well as an undisclosed French club, both of whom have sent their own bids to Caen.
Gomis played a big role for the Ligue 2 side this season, appearing in all 18 league matches played by the northern side. The teenager also managed to score two goals and two assists.
