Barcelona make major transfer call – Arsenal front and centre in race

Barcelona looks like they are being hostage again this summer on their salary limit, but even if they have money from the lease of their 475 VIP chairs, they will not make big movements. That is the last to come from the Catalan capital, while director of Football Deco tries to plan the summer.

Athletic Club-Vleugel player Nico Williams has been strongly connected to Barcelona lately, and the 21-year-old Spain International will be available again this summer for € 60 million due to its release clause. Barcelona was supposedly due to restart conversations with his camp, with Arsenal apparently their biggest rivals for his signature.

After Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain fell out of the race for Williams, MD says that Barcelona will also do the same. They claim that the club feels the time to sign Williams is over and they are now satisfied with their options on the left wing.

Barcelona will also ignore the successor to Robert Lewandowski this summer, the feeling that they have enough for next season in their ranks. In addition to the strong form of Lewandowski this season, they believe that Ferran Torres is more than prepared to be the alternative of Lewandowski, and Dani Olmo can also work there as a false nine.

The same report continues by saying that Barcelona now gives priority to the signing of a central midfielder and a right back, as well as a center-back, depending on the departure.

That in theory the door would leave open to Arsenal to take the lead in the race for Williams. New sports director Andrea Berta, formerly from Atletico Madrid, reportedly recently met Williams to discuss a move. The Basque winger also wants to be packed his future before July 15 this summer to prevent a similar Transfersaga and to allow him a full preseason.
