The gamper trophy, the traditional pre -season opener, will have to take place elsewhere, while Barcelona could ask to play their opening matches of the season away from home. Their goal is to be back for the first matches of the Champions League group phase next season.
This news will undoubtedly be taken with a pinch of salt by fans of Barcelona, who have told different return dates several times, with three official delays. Earlier this year it was reported that it could be as late as the end of 2025 that they are returning. This will partly depend on when the city can grant both safety permits and the construction itself.
