Barcelona take 17-year-old Brazilian talent on trial after Deco recommendation

Barcelona has a history of searching for the best talents coming from Latin -America, and indeed, especially Brazil. The appointment of director of Football Deco was a new step to ensure that the tradition continues, with the former Portugal International enjoying important ties in his home country of Brazil.

According to Sport, Barcelona has taken on 17-year-old Brazilian playmaker Joao Vorror Roraima in the coming weeks. The teenage talent plays for Ibrachina, a relatively small club in East -Sao Paulo, and despite the fact that he would not be able to move to Barcelona until he grows up, his presence comes down to Deco.

The man responsible for Barcelona's transfer strategy has personally recommended the process, and it is noted that there is relatively little information about Vorror Roraima, who played for a smaller side, but he did compete in the Copa Sao Paulo de Juniores, where he might have reached Barcelona's radar. “This is further evidence that Ibrachina has settled among the great leaders of Brazilian football,” Ibrachina communicated on social media.

It is true that Barcelona has difficulty having the same impact in Brazil, with Vitor Roque the latest example of failed movement for emerging talent. Neymar Junior stands out as the clear example of a success story, but people like Arthur Melo, Matheus Fernandes, Douglas Junior, Emerson Royale (who came from Real Betis), Marlon, Kirrison and Henrique all fall in the past two decades that have not been worked. Recruiting Deco, who previously worked as an explorer for Barcelona in Latin -America, was a step to tackle that bad record.

Where Barcelona has performed their reconnaissance efforts, is in Africa. Mikayil Faye first moved to Croatia, but the Senegalese marked a shift in the policy, with people like David Oduro, Ibrahim Diarra and Arouna Traore who all moved to Barcelona in the last two years. The Blaugrana have made it an important part of their policy to become better in identifying the best teenage talents before they arrive on the big stage.
