
Luis Enrique will compete against Mikel Arteta when PSG is confronted with Arsenal in the semi-final of the Champions League and claimed that the Gunners boss has a remarkable advantage over him
Luis Enrique rather underlined how Mikel Arteta's Lange Arsenal official gives him an advantage when they come across PSG. Arteta is in the Emirates in his fifth full season and has fully embedded his philosophy before the semi -final of the Champions League on the French side.
It will be the second time that they have confronted each other this season. Back in the fall, Arsenal achieved a 2-0 win over the Ligue 1-outfit, which failed to take on a big challenge in North London.
Since then, PSG excelled and claimed the French title again, but also switched Liverpool and Aston Villa in the Champions League. Enrique has Parrowing his team while peaking at the business end of the season.
But in October, when PSG was well defeated in Arsenal, Enrique seemed to suggest that it was clear that the side of Arteta would defeat them, considering how far they are in their development.
He said: “Mikel Arteta has been managing Arsenal for five or six years. I have managed that team for a year and two months. I don't know where we are, I have a clear idea about where I want to be, but I don't know how much time I need.”
The Champions League is the only hope of Arsenal to win silverware this year and to have become inland. Arteta comes under increasing pressure to deliver a trophy after several almost missers and was allowed to spend millions on player transfers.
In the meantime, PSG has finally clicked in gear with Ousmane Dembele who led their attack. The signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January further strengthened their front line, while Vitinha and Nuno Mendes regularly produce. Enrique has also claimed that he knows everything about the threat that Arsenal will pose for the first pipes at the Emirates.
“Have I already started analyzing Arsenal? No, because I already know Arsenal perfectly,” he said reporters. “For a long time it is a team that I have followed. For the rest, the qualities we have, the mistakes we have, are the same. We can improve, yes, but if you focus on what is negative, that is your problem. We don't do that.
“Of course we want to improve, but there is no perfect team and we won't be. We come to a great moment in the season because we are obsessed with the Champions League. We are going to have a great version of PSG against Arsenal.”
