Xabi Alonso goes to Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen are looking for a new manager prior to the 2025/26 season.
Alonso led Leverkusen to a historic very first Bundesliga title in 2024, but now he continues, with a return to Real Madrid on the cards.
His arrival in the Spaniards is unlikely that it will be confirmed on 25 May until the end of the current LA Liga campaign, while Carlo Ancelotti will go to Brazil.
There are already plans to secure Alonso's successor in the Bayara, with two names in the frame, including former Barcelona and Spain Star CESC Fabregas.
According to reports from Sky Sports Germany, via Diario AS, former Manchester United -Baas Erik ten Hag was the leading candidate to take over from Alonso.
However, Club insiders are not convinced by the Dutchman, after a mixed enchantment at Old Trafford.
The report claims that a Fabregas offer has reached because of its striking work at Serie A Side Como.
Leverkusen -Sports director Simon Rolfes confirmed that 'no candidate has put down the job' with a decision that is expected before the end of May.
The Serie A season reflects the end date of La Liga and Fabregas, not until then.
The stock of Fabregas has been shocked since he was in charge – initially as an interim head coach at the end of 2023 – before he permanently recorded the course last summer after obtaining his UEFA license.
After playing a key role in their very first Serie A promotion, Fabregas led with confidence to the center of the table and strengthens its own coaching CV.
The current contract of Fabegas in Como is until 2028, and they will fight to keep him, but the temptation of Leverkusen will be strong if he wants to follow in the footsteps of his former midfield partner of La Roja.
