Former world champion shares message of support he received from Alexander Volkanovski after back-to-back defeats

'The Great' fulfilled his nickname in Miami last weekend after he had added a remarkable chapter to his legendary career.

Alexander Volkanovski is always fed by wrongly proving doubts, but even he admitted that they had some reasons to count it out for UFC 314.

After losing back-to-back, Volkanovski has recovered the featherweight title by beating Diego Lopes and prove that he is still one of the best in the world.

The 36-year-old has already set plans to get some more title defenses under his belt with Volkanovski who wants to continue his track record because he is an incredibly active champion.

It is clear to see from the support that he received from his colleague hunters that the Aussie is not only a great champion in the Octagon, he is also a big person outside the cage.

Tim Tzyu thanks Alexander Volkanovski for supporting him during a difficult moment in his career

Alexander Volkanovski had to answer a number of huge questions after he was eliminated in his previous two outings, in which many believed that a third consecutive loss could lead to his retirement.

It is an incredibly difficult place for a hunter to find himself in, but 'The Great' could turn things around when his back was against the wall.

The Australian boxer Tim Tszyu was recently in a similar position and had lost his undefeated record because of a report of a split decision against Sebastian Fundora in March last year.

After he fell until 24-1 and had lost his WBO-Light Centralweight title in the trial, Tzyu looked back later in the year, but he finally ran back-to-back defeats.

A second loss in a fight with Bakhram Murtazaliev for the IBF -Light Middleweight title had derailed his career, but he bounced back earlier this month by stopping Joseph Spencer within four rounds.

In a recent Instagram post, Tzyu Volkanovski congratulated with the victory, while revealing that when he came across adversity in his career, 'The Great' reached to offer some extra motivation.

“Happy to see @alexvolkanovski again at the top. When I lost my last fight, he gave me nothing but support. He is a real ambassador because he never gives up and returns after he has been brought down.”

In addition to a photo of them together, Tszyu shared a screenshot of the private message that the featherweight champion of the UFC sent him with encouragement of words to lift the hunter.

“Hey brother, I am sure that you are now disappointed, but you are still a beast and still have enough time. I know you are back. You never shun a challenge and that mentality is why I know that you are better sending back than ever. We would not be half of the men if we didn't challenge ourselves every day.

Alexander Volkanovski has set all his sights on a new goal

After recovering the featherweight title in style on UFC 314, Alexander Volkanovski already has a new target in his sights.

'The Great' wants to face the unbeaten Movsar Evloev in his next outing in the hope of possibly fighting twice in 2025.

After he returned to Australia with the gold of 145 pounds over his shoulder, Volkanovski Fox News Australia told that being the first person who defeated the 19-0 Russian is something that motivates him in his career at this stage.

“Movsar is unbeaten. I like it that he is unbeaten. He is again of the younger generation. For the inheritance that would still mean so much.”
