Former welterweight title -seconder Gilbert Burns was invoiced as the most difficult test of his young career.

Michael Morales destroys Gilbert Burns

Morales almost dominated the very first bell against Burns.

The 25-year-old pricked his opponent early and often during their UFC Vegas 106 Main Event, which started earlier than expected because the co-headliner of Paul Craig vs Rodolfo Bellato was called off because of a 'medical problem'.

Burns temporarily threatened with a Takedown, but he never really got into the fight.

In the end, Morales swung with bumps to force an impressive TKO finish of the first round.

The Ecuadorian is now 18-0 and to become a huge UFC star after his last victory.

Burns did not retire in the Achthoek, but the 38-year-old stands for an uncertain future after UFC Vegas 106.

What is the next step for Michael Morales?

In the most difficult test of his career, Morales arrived at #12 in the UFC Welterweight Division.

A victory over Burns is likely to see MORALES TAKE TAKE SPECE when the ranking update will update next week.

Champion of 170 pound Jack della Maddalena is expected to defend his belt against Islam Makhachev then.

Then Shavkat Rakhmonov seems to be the next one for a shot on good weight gold.

Morales will therefore have to beat one of the two more contenders to make his title references unmistakable.
