
Ilkay Gundogan has dropped a big hint about his coaching plans after he hung up his boots in Manchester City.
The former Germany International opted for a return to Manchester last summer after a free transfer after just one season in Barcelona.
The two clubs agreed to punish a transition back to Manchester with a 12 -month contract when the Catalans wanted to lower their wage account before the 2024/25 campaign.
Gundogan famous city for a historical trophy-rebleble in 2023, before moving to Barcelona, and the 34-year-old was a fixture this season in his second spell in the Etihad Stadium.
The experienced playmaker has already activated a clause to extend his contract with another year and he stays with Pep Guardiola before 2025/26.
During their time, Gundogan and Guardiola had a strong relationship in Manchester together and the first gave the opportunity to be a striking opportunity together with his mentor in the future.
“Pep's assistant would be very interesting for me,” he told an interview with Bild, via Relefon.
“That [coaching] Is not something I think about now. I feel that I really enjoy football. Not only for another year, but at least two, maybe even three or four.
“I'm not afraid at all, I'm excited and my body is still in good condition.”
Gundogan also opened his exit from Barcelona and hinted that he did not get the chance to speak well with Hansi film before a decision was made by the club.
“I felt that it was better to leave. I felt that the club was in favor of it, especially for financial reasons, although I thought I had a very good first season.
