Joe Rogan declares featherweight star a ‘future world champion’ after wild finish at UFC 314

Joe Rogan buys the Jean Silva -Hype.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan knows MMA talent when he sees it. During his time as one of the best UFC analysts, Rogan has seen the best in the worst of what the sport has to offer.

The schedule of the UFC continues to expand in 2025 and then, with new stars that pop up every month. One of the biggest storylines of 2025 in the UFC, so far, is the rise of the Fighting Nerds team from Brazil.

Joe Rogan Scharmens a lot of praise for UFC star Jean Silva

During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan experience, Rogan made a daring claim about flowering UFC star Jean Silva.

“The fight I really wanted to see was Bryce Mitchell vs. Jean Silva. Because Jean Silva is ———-, guy. That guy looks like a world champion,” said Rogan about Silva. 'To just beat [Bryce Mitchell] From pillar to post the entire fight, smiled and laughing, seemed like he was never threatened or in danger. Just as he was at a different level, far above Bryce … looked like a world champion.

“Even guys who have previously defeated Bryce Mitchell, except Josh Emmett who just chose him with one stone, but even Ilia Topuria first had to get hold of him … Jean Silva made it look like it was never a fight, he just had fun … and then finally just put asleep. He is an animal, man.”

Silva finished Bryce Mitchell in two rounds on UFC 314 earlier this month and continued his undefeated run in the promotion. After beating Mitchell, Silva entered the top 15 of featherweight and called for a title shot.

Jean Silva called for a title shot after Bryce Mitchell won

Silva drives a lot of momentum after his performance at UFC 314. After Ilia left Topuria the division and Alexander Volkanovski has recovered the featherweight throne, the division urgently needs fresh stars.

Although a featherweight title shot is subsequently unlikely, Silva's high profile will probably culminate in another large name fight against a top candidate. Aljamain Sterling, Patricio 'Pitbull' and then Ige are a few names to keep an eye on Silva's return opponent.

Rogan threw a potential confrontation between Silva and Yair Rodriguez, who won a big victory over UFC 314 on the main map. Just like Silva, Rodriguez has also called for a title shot despite losses in two of his last three fights.

Regardless of those who then fight Silva, it will be under a new big spotlight, and Rogan believes it will not take long before he enters the photo of the featherweight.
