UFC Heavyweight Champion Jones has confronted with some legendary opponents in the Octagon, but there is in particular one opponent who has defined his career.
In what is perhaps the most personal and high level rivalry in UFC history, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier were made to fight each other.
Their fighting certainly delivered, but the tension between them in the run-up to their two encounters was a must-watch with Jones and Cormier Trading Verbal Jabs.
After 'DC' had withdrawn with heavyweight in 2020, his former enemy would find himself to the division after leaving his title of 205 pounds.
In a recent interview, Jones claimed that he would have defeated Cormier in heavyweight in even more devastating way than with slightly heavyweight, but this was not always his opinion.

Jon Jones said he would have the “greatest chance of losing” if he fought against heavyweight against Daniel Cormier
In an interview from 2019 with TNT Sports, Jon Jones spoke with former UFC title -Uitdager Dan Hardy about the upcoming Rematch by Daniel Cormier with Stipe Miocic.
Jones prepared to face Thiago Santos at that time, after he recently defeated Anthony Smith, and although he was interested in the idea of going to heavyweight in the future, it was not his priority.
The best consensus of all time was asked if, in order to achieve a new victory over his greatest rival, he would like to set up a division to try to take Cormier's belt in another chapter of their notable rivalry.
He said this matchup was not something he considered, and that was not because he had already got better in the Octagon from 'DC'.

Jones said that with regard to what Cormier brings on the table, he would jeopardize himself by giving an opponent of that caliber a physical advantage above him.
“I am a realist. Daniel Cormier is a special athlete and everyone can be defeated and I think my greatest chance to lose would be for a man like Daniel Cormier to give him a power and power benefit about me.
“It's just not logical. At the moment I am very easy to make light heavy and it would just not make sense to fight a man who, I think, is at your level and to give him a measure, I don't do it.
“I'm sure my fans don't like to hear me talking that way, but I'm just a realist and respectful for Daniel's capacities.”
Fans have been frustrated by Jon Jones lately because of the current Tom Aspinall Saga
It is clear to see from this interview how competitive Jon Jones is.
Although he clearly respects the ability of Daniel Cormier, despite the fact that he has already beaten him, Jones does not want to give his former opponent any benefits.
These physical benefits are precisely the reason why so many Vecht fans want to see that the UFC Heavyweight Champion assumes the interim title holder, Tom Aspinall.
Asinall has not achieved anything near Jones or Cormier at this stage in his career, but the young and powerful Brit offers a very exciting challenge for 'Bones'.
Clips like these make it easy to see why Jones wants such a large payment day to argue such as the title bundle that some factors go against him.
