Jose Aldo spammed leg kicks to leave UFC legend with horrific injury after 25-minute beatdown

There will always be a debate about who is the greatest of all time and this has become especially true when it comes to the featherweight division.

Some fight fans will not remember the incredible performance of Jose Aldo before he was eliminated by Conor McGregor on UFC 194.

For those who do that, the Brazilian is one of the greatest of all time whose featherweight title rules and fights with people like Chad Mendes, Aldo make an unassailable legend.

There has been some criticism of the way he has been booked since he returned from a short pension last year, but when the 'King of Rio' was at his best, he dismantled every opponent that was placed for him.

Aldo will now be opposed to Aiemann Zahabi on UFC 315 next month, who will be more than 15 years after one of his most iconic versions that is still regularly cited.

Jose Aldo has demolished Urijah Faber with legs in his first WEC title defense

On this day (April 24) in 2010, Jose Aldo would make the second defense of his WEC -Fedweight title in Sacramento, California.

After he had stopped both Cub Swanson and Mike Brown to win the gold, his next challenge would be to take on a favorite in the hometown that paid attention to the smaller weight classes in MMA.

By 2010 Urijah Faber was already a veteran with 26 fights under his belt and had only had defeats for Mike Brown in addition to a TKO loss for Tyson Griffin all the way back in 2005.

After submitting Raphael Assuncao at the start of the year, Faber Aldo went into the main event of WEC 48, a map that also had a lightweight title fight between Benson Henderson and Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone and Demetrious Johnson's decision loss against Brad Pickett.

The defending champion then went off a statement in the main event when Aldo was really feared for his leg kick.

A total of 32 body and leg kicks sent Faber several times to the canvas, where he could not give a significant weight on both legs, in particular his left was considerably damaged.

It was an almost flawless version of Aldo that retained his title through a unanimous decision in which fans still wondered how Faber remained in the fight on points that had worn the damage days after the game.

To this day, the images of what Faber's leg looked like after the fight still seem unrealistic, because it seems more likely that he was attacked by different people armed with baseball bats.

From that moment on, every impressive representation of leg kicks will certainly be compared to WEC 48 in Sacramento.

Jose Aldo has been unbeaten for ten years during his featherweight title Reign

The dominant victory of Jose Aldo op Urijah Faber in 2010 came halfway through his undefeated decade at the top of the featherweight division.

After he defeated Faber, Aldo would defend the WEC title against Manny Gamburyan before he was signed at the UFC where he was immediately set as the featherweight champion.

The Brazilian would rise seven title defenses in the Octagon before his incredible run ended up at UFC 194 in December 2015.

At the age of 38 he will look again to bounce back from a loss when he is opposite Bantamweight opposite UFC 315 opposite Aiemann Zahabi.
