Gary Lineker has revealed that he received a surprising new TV role prior to his day of the day – and admitted some aspects of punditry 'Boring'.
Lineker, 64, will resign from the iconic BBC program at the end of the season after 26 years in the role, after he replaced Anchor des Lynam in 1999.
He will stay with the broadcast giant to organize FA Cup competitions the next campaign and will also retire their 2026 world cup cover.
Three presenters – Kelly Cates, Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman – have already been announced as the rotating successors of Lineker, from August.
Lineker will continue to organize his popular podcast. The rest is football, but he is flooded with other offers while he is approaching the end of his stint with the beeb.
Different pitches would have organized him his own cooking show – a passion of him – but Lineker refused them and declared joke that he is not 'Gordon F *** ING Ramsay'.
'I would like to tell you that I am a very good cook. I'm pretty good, “he told The Times.
'I've been doing it for ten years now and I am obsessive. So if I do something and I realize that I am pretty good at it, I throw my heart and soul at it.
“I offered to do cooking programs, but I don't want it, because although I am a very enthusiastic cook and I think I'm a good cook, I'm not Gordon F *** ING Ramsay.”
Lineker revealed in March that he had conversations on different occasions on various occasions, but she had agreed – and a larger wage package – for his loyalty to the BBC.
When asked about Sky's dominant coverage of the Premier League, Lineker admitted that he did not view a certain segment of their programs, convincing that it is 'boring'.
“They can spend 20 minutes on covering a corner,” Lineker added. “It's not for me. I call in before the competition. The structure for competitions, for me, is the most boring part.
'You are gambling what will happen. Let's have five minutes who is not in the team. Give me the peace. That is what I like about live competitions. Half time.
'We have a huge advantage [at the BBC]. We have no commercials. When I worked at BT Sport during the Champions League when there are three goals in the first half to show them [because of the adverts]. You don't have time. '
Lineker is adamant Cates, Logan and Chapman will be worthy replacements when he leaves the competition of the day, but he has described the course as a 'massive obligation'.
He gave his opinion on the triple recruitment and told Fourfourtwo: 'That is probably from the fact that it is a huge commitment.
'Those three all have families, and if you say someone will do it in the next ten or 20 years, then your weekends will disappear.
“That's it might, I don't know. I have not been involved in that.
'I consider it a compliment that they have mentioned three, but I suspect that this is not due.
“I haven't seen them yet to talk to them, but I'll do it. It will be fine and they will do great. I have known them for years, they are top presenters. '
