Liverpool’s top target to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold shares exit message

Liverpool is looking for a new right back after Trent Alexander-Arnold announced that he left Anfield and Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong, is linked as a possible successor

Liverpool Target Jeremie Frimpong has said goodbye to the outgoing Bayer Leverkusen -Coach Xabi Alonso while the Spaniard is preparing for the replacement of Carlo Ancelotti in Real Madrid. Frimpong is one of the smartest talents of Leverkusen during their turnout since Alonso took over it in 2022 and has formed a bond with the 43-year-old.

Frimpong has been an ever -present right back since Alonso arrived and was one of the heroes of their famous title -winning season last year, 14 times in all competitions and seven times assistance.

His exciting impressions of the right flank have led to enormous interest from clubs around the world after Alonso helped him make an attacking force after the start of his career at Manchester City and Celtic.

Now he shared a farewell message to Alonso after the 43-year-old announced that he would leave his role this summer, posted a photo of the two who celebrate on the field together. Frimpong wrote: “Lived it. I thought it was great. Goodbye, coach.”

Now that Alonso is gone, Frimpong can be free to become a member of another club after he was linked to a move to Liverpool. The Reds are looking for a new right back after Trent Alexander-Arnold revealed that he would leave the club at the end of the season.

Alexander -Arnold seems to be in order to join Real Madrid – where he probably connects to Alonso – and Frimpong could replace the right back at Anfield.

The Times have previously reported that Frimpong is a “leading candidate if Liverpool should strengthen this summer in that position”, while the Guardian has also claimed that he is interesting for Arne Slot.

It is said that he has a release clause of around £ 30 million and would be a low-budget option for Liverpool, who also has Academy graduate Conor Bradley in their ranks.

The Reds have also been associated with Monaco Right-back Vandersonon while they continue to look for the replacement of Alexander-Arnold after the decision of the English International to end his association with his boy's club.

Slot hoped to keep the 26-year-old and admitted that he was “disappointed” to lose him this week after breaking his silence about the player's exit.

“I think, just like everyone else who loves Liverpool and is a fan of Liverpool, we are disappointed that he is leaving because not only a good person leaves the club, but a very good full-back also leaves us.

“But the experience I have – and by the way also this club – is that if a very good player leaves, will perform the next very good player and that will probably happen now.”
