Man City close in on Premier League’s most expensive EVER transfer as Florian Wirtz jets in for talks

Pep Guardiola held conversations with Florian Wirtz when Manchester City brought their bid to land the German star in a record of £ 126 million.

The Bayer Leverkusen Vooruit, 22, threw to Blackpool from Maastricht in Holland while City Bayern Munich seems to be beating for his signature.

Wirtz, one of the most popular properties in Europe, traveled with his agent father to discuss a possible move to Etihad before returning home last night.

Boss Guardiola has identified Wirtz as his no 1 -purpose white while rebuilding from his city team and replacing club legend Kevin De Bruyne, 33. Who leaves at the end of his contract in June.

The offer of the city would break the British transfer record, which is currently £ 115 million, which Chelsea Brighton paid to sign midfielder Moises Caicedo in 2023.

Wirtz, his father Hans and mother Karin took a private jet from Maastricht-Aachen Airport in the Netherlands to Blackpool on Tuesday, according to the German newspaper Bild.

They were then driven to Manchester to meet Guardiola before they fly back at 4.40 pm.

Apparently the small airport behind the German Dutch border was chosen to attract attention.

However, Bild could get photos of Wirtz's mother and dad at the Dutch airport when they returned to their car.

A reporter approached Wirtz's father Hans who shook his hand but chose to remain silent.

Wirtz has previously spoken with Guardiola, but the attacker still has to make a final decision about his future with two more years about his current Leverkusen -deal.

But his club would rather sell to the city than their Bundesliga rivals.

He only returned from a knee injury last month, so that he saw the Last-16spel of the Champions League with Bayern, but still scored 16 goals and added 15 assists in 44 games this season.

Bayern, who won the Bundesliga this period after he lost at Leverkusen last season, offers £ 84 million for Wirtz.

The German was of vital importance for Leverkusen's undefeated title Triumph under Xabi Alonso in 2023-24.

City has also approached AC Milan to sign Tijjani Reijnders, 26, although they still have to make an offer.

Milan wants about £ 60 million for the Dutch midfielder, which would make him their greatest sales in their history.

The two clubs still have a negotiation to complete via right back Kyle Walker, 34, which is on loan for the rest of the season in the Serie A-Outfit from City.

City is also interested in Nottingham Forest Star Morgan-Gibbs White, 25.

However, Newcastle will fight against every city attempt to sign England star Tino Livramento.

The 22-year-old seemed since he came up to become Toon's first choice for Kieran Trippier.

Champions League that chases Newcastle, does not have to sell big names.

Baas Eddie Howe said, “The summer window will be a big one for us.”
