Newcastle has defeated Real Madrid and Barcelona for the signing of Antonio Cordero, according to reports.
The 18-year-old prodigy has attracted attention this season with his performances for Malaga.
Real Madrid and Barcelona were supposed to follow the winger.
But according to Fabrizio Romano, he chose Newcastle above the Spanish giants and has agreed a move to St James' park.
The deal will be announced by the club in the coming weeks and will be completed as soon as the transfer window will open this summer.
Cordero is no longer a contract at the end of the season, so since the beginning of the year it is free to talk to other clubs.
And he visited Newcastle with his family in January prior to the switch.
Cordero has regularly been seen in front of Malaga since he was broken on the side last season.
He helped his side promotion to win in his debut campaign, with Malaga now 17th in Laliga 2.
Cordero made 32 performances this season, scored five goals and helped six.

He also created six great opportunities and made 22 important passes in 1690 minutes of football.
Sports director in Newcastle Paul Mitchell has given priority to the signing of young players, where Cordero fits in with the transfer criteria of the club.
He said about their transfer strategy: “Scouting and recruiting rising talent is an essential part of building a sustainable future, especially within the current PSR framework, so the market is fiercely competitive.
“We continue to explore extensively, both in the interior and abroad, with a view to securing players who can come through our talent path and, ideally, are part of the first team in the future.”
