Tennis Carlos Alcaraz has said that it would like to meet Trent Alexander-Arnold and would like to have a conversation in Spanish with the new signing of Real Madrid
Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has made the daring prediction that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be back the world at the top right after Real Madrid.
And Alcaraz, a mega real supporter, said he hopes to meet the English international to have a conversation in Spanish after he was impressed by his language skills at last week's unveiling.
Alexander-Arnold will make his debut on Wednesday evening for the Spanish giants against Al Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup. Real is also confronted with Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg in the group phases of the club World Cup.
And, as reported by Marca, Alcaraz said: “If I ever meet him, I will speak to him in Spanish. His Spanish is very good. I was surprised when I heard it.
“I have a lot of respect for him. It's great to have him in real Madrid. I am convinced that he will be the best back in the world.”
Alexander-Arnold will wear No12 at Real and said that he has chosen to have his first name on the back of the shirt, because fans on the continent find his last name with a double barrel confusing.
“The name of my kit is only 'Trent'? It is an easy explanation, I have always discovered that when I travel to Europe, the three-to-go situation and it was a double run, was confusing,” he said last week.
“People call me Arnold, Alex, Trent … I thought we'll make it simple. Just Trent. That's my name and I think that's what people will call me.”
From the switch, who made many fans of Liverpool angry, he added: “I always knew it, if I ever left Liverpool, it would only be to go to Real Madrid, that would be the only club for me.
“I am not going to say that it was easy because I had been there for so long, was part of it, but in the end you have to make a decision.
“In my mind I made the right one and it is one that I am very enthusiastic about.”
Alexander-Arnold said it was a “dream” to join Real after leaving Liverpool, which he became a member of a six-year-old and then won two Premier League titles, a Champions League, FA Cup, two competition cups, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
He added: “I want to show them what I can do, I want to win a lot of titles, be champions and continue to grow and enjoy football with the best in the world.”
