Schweinsteiger ‘splits from tennis ace wife Ivanovic – now living apart’

One of the greatest PowerPers in Sport seems to have called full -time on their relationship.

According to reports in Germany, World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger and former tennis world No.1 Ana Ivanovic are divided after nine years of marriage.

Ex-manchester United midfielder Schweinsteiger, 40, and wife Ivanovic, 37, ended their relationship two months ago according to the German Outlet Bunte.

The couple, who together has three sons together, is said to live separately after falling apart.

Schweinsteiger would travel to work, but was regularly based from Munich – where he spent most of his playing career as a Bayern Munich star.

While Ivanovic lives almost 1000 miles away in her hometown of Belgrade, Serbia next to the children of the pair of Luka, Leon and Theo.

Ivanovic, who won the French Open in 2008, is supposed to live in an apartment near her parents and brother's houses.

Reports from Bild claim that the relationship of the couple started to tension together after a lack of time.

The sporty superstars met each other for the first time in 2014, where Schweinsteiger dropped his knee in London, only a matter of months after their first meeting.

They later married in Venice in July 2016, just five months before Ivanovic hung her racket and withdrew from tennis.

Ivanovic had an impressive career in which she won 15 career titles and won more than £ 11.6 million in prize money.

While she reached Wimbledon's semi-final in 2007, the Australian Open final won in 2008 and won the French Open that same year against Dinara Safina.

Schweinsteiger spent 18 years as a professional football player and spent most of his career at Bundesliga Giants Bayern Munich.

The defensive midfielder made 500 performances for the Bavarian and made him their 11th top appearances in history.

While he won eight competition titles, seven German cups and one Champions League with the club.

Later he turned the Allianz Arena for Old Trafford into a movement to join Man Utd in 2015.

He stayed with the Red Devils for two seasons, made 35 performances and helped United to win the League Cup, FA Cup and Europa League.

Later he left the Premier League to join MLS Side Chicago Fire in 2017 and to spend three seasons in the US before retired in 2019.

On the international stage, Schweinsteiger earned 121 caps for the German national side and was part of their world -cup team 2014.
