At Goal-Shy Rasmus Hojlund, Daniel Sturridge has urged it to be more selfish to recover from his slump in Manchester United.
The Norwegian has passed a miserable campaign at Old Traffords and scored only three times in 28 performances in his second season since a transfer of £ 72 million from Atalanta.
Hojlund was not helped by the sad form of the Red Devils, who are 14th in the table and are on the course to register their worst Premier League campaign.
Sturridge, who enjoyed spells in the top flight with Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea, believes that the 22-year-old should make more to have more attempts in goal. And he insisted on it to be more selfish to improve his shape.
“Center-back has taken more photos,” said Sturridge on Sky Sports. 'I have had periods in which I let one shot come from the field and it is up to me, my run selection.
'It also communicates with teammates, this is what I want from you. The only thing he has to improve for me is a bit more selfish, you have to choose your places.
“There is something in it, he is not a bad player, he has talent and maybe the setup in which he is now is not to allow him to flourish.”
The Run van Hojlund has worried for experts and led to speculation that the Red Devils will try to continue his in the summer. After his bad show in last weekend's 1-0 defeat by Wolves, when he was replaced after 70 minutes, Premier League legend Alan Shearer Hojlund noticed a “damaged player” and said he believes he is suffering from a “confidence crisis.”
Despite his shortcomings this period, Hojlund has retained its place as the first choice of United for the most of the campaign under Ruben Amorim for Joshua Zirkzee and Teenage Wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin.
But the club is said to be on the market for a striker during the upcoming window. In recent weeks, Wolves star Matheus Cunha has emerged as a likely summer recruitment.
Mail Sport revealed last week that Man United is getting closer to an agreement with the Brazilian.
United will still have to activate the £ 62.5 million release clause of the Brazilian, but hope they have the conditions nowadays, while they still have headroom under profit and sustainability rules.
