A UFC legend would not mind giving the torch to his co -welfter weights.
UFC 315 takes place this weekend with two title fights north of the border in Montreal, Canada. Champion Belal Muhammad and Jack della Maddalena will meet each other for welterweight gold in the main event, while Valentina Shevchenko defends her fly weight against Manon Fiorot in the co-headliner.
Muhammad has never defended the title of Welterweight before, after he won the belt of Leon Edwards last summer. Yet 'Remember the Name' is already called the third best welterweight champion of all time, which Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley and Matt Hughes surpasses.
The best consensus are former champions Georges St-Pierre and Kamaru Usman, who would not mind touching gold.

Usman still stays in the title hunt at 170LBS with GSP long retired from the Welterweight Division, which has not fought in the weight class since 2013.
In the presence of UFC 315 as a corner man for Aiemann Zahabi in his fight against Jose Aldo, St-Pierre was asked if he would consider the goodweight belt around the winner of Belal Muhammad vs. Jack della Maddalena in the main event in wrapping.
“Yes, of course,” said St-Pierre on a UFC Q&A Friday.
“If they want me to do it, I'll do it.
“On Saturday I will work as a corner man. My priority is to be there for Aiemann Zahabi and he has an incredible task that fights against Jose Aldo.
“So if everything goes according to plan and we get the W and they want me to do it, why not?
“Would be an honor,” said St-Pierre about packaging the belt on UFC 315.
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson had the honor to wrap the BMF title
Packing the UFC belt on a champion is more often left to UFC CEO Dana White. Over the years, however, we have seen some other familiar faces that get the honor within the Achthoek.
In 2019, WWE Superstar actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was selected to present the inaugural BMF title on UFC 244 for Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz.
Johnson wrapped the silver belt around the victorious Masvidal and started a trend for the BMF title.
In the second BMF title fight between Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier, Masvidal Gaethje awarded the Riem and in the latest episode on UFC 300 the first heavyweight champion of the UFC Mark Coleman de Riem handed over to Max Holloway after his buzzer-boom
The BMF title may not be at stake between Belal Muhammad and Jack della Maddalena, but Georges St-Pierre who wraps the belt on the winner is not outside the realm of the possibility. After all, the Canadian UFC legend is in Montreal of all places.
