Xabi Alonso to be put in tight spot as Real Madrid alter transfer stance

Real Madrid responded quickly this summer to a season without a large trophy, with the Intercontinental Cup and the European Supercup the only silverware stored on the Santiago Bernabeu this season. That has taken the form of more than € 100 million in expenditure before the European season is officially over.

New manager Xabi Alonso wanted to join Los Blancos to Los Blancos after the World Cup World Cup to give him the time to prepare, but he will have at least three new players to strengthen his options in the United States. The Basque manager will be able to count on Alvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold come through the door.

A midfielder would be the next on the agenda for Los Blancos, with a lack of control in the middle of the field that proved a problem last season. Alonso noted that Jude Bellingham would return to a deeper role, but it is believed that he wanted another player to arrive in the middle of the field.

Real Madrid is linked to a number of midfielders, including Tijjani Reijnders, Martin Zubimendi and Angelo Stiller. Nevertheless, Cadena Ser says that there is less obligation within the club to spend on a midfielder. They feel that the center of the pitch is well covered, and although they are still looking at options, there is less urgency and have excluded from large spending to Enzo Fernandez, Rodri Hernandez or Alexis Mac Allister.

They say that the club world is used as a test. If things don't work in midfield, that attitude can change. Otherwise, Real Madrid will evaluate their options to strengthen the position, but without deciding to move to relocate for someone.

It brings Alonso into a difficult position. It is clear that he will do well with Real Madrid in his debut competition in the US, and a bad start will immediately put him under pressure. At the same time, being successful, he can rob him of a player he feels that he needs if the club sees it as an argument not to invest.
