The star of Manchester City and England, Kyle Walker, spent the second half of the season on loan in AC Milan and the Rossoneri still has to confirm whether he will extend his stay.
AC Milan has decided that they want Kyle Walker to stay in the San Siro, it is said. The Manchester City spent the second half of the season on loan in Italy, but questions had remained in the longer term during his future.
The 34-year-old still has a year at his city contract and was on the outskirts under Pep Guardiola in the first half of the campaign. He was a regular starter for the Rossoneri when he was fit, although he recently went back after a broken arm.
According to reports in Italy (via Sport Witness), Milan believes that an £ 3 million bid will be sufficient for the English star. City added to their right back options in January, with £ 34 million men Abdukodir Khusanov interspersed between the law and the center of the rear four, and Walker seems excess to the requirements.
However, it is a different story in the Serie A, where Walker has played 11 times. He also started both legs from Milan's Champions League Knock -Out Play -Off against Feyenoord and played the entire 90 in two Coppa Italia matches -with the Sergio Concukica team to compete against Bologna in the final.
The loan movement also allowed him to prove to England Thomas Tuchel that he can still contribute to the three lions. Tuchel gave Walker -minutes in both the internationals in March, the confirmation of every player who was called up was the chance to play on the World Cup of next summer.
The optimism comes despite the fact that Walker seems to leave the door open for a city return during an April edition of the Kyle Walker Podcast. “After I said goodbye, Pep got up and spoke and said a very nice message to me, just thanking for everything,” he said.
“But listen, it's not over. I am just on loan here. I have to take into account that I can go back. Of course, both parties must come to an agreement at the end of the season and listen, the chapter is not completely closed, but we will see what happens.”
Conuicao spoke the versatility of Walker before Milan took on Bologna in the competition on Friday evening, which suggests that he is a feasible option in a rear three or on the right. The veteran started on the couch, but came up as part of a triple change with Milan with 1-0 and was on the field when colleague Sub Santi Gimenez scored twice in a 3-1 comeback victory.
A slow start among previous boss Paulo Fonseca left Milan from the European photo, and they took a while to hit their pass in the competition under Conukicao. However, a return of four victories of their last five outings leaves them with an external shot to qualify for Europe through their competition position, while the victory in the Coppa Italia Final is a different potential route.
