Arsenal hoping to rival Chelsea for Barcelona star this summer

Barcelona looks again as if they will count their coins this summer, with some hope to bring in players who depend on their sticky salary limit. With people like Ronald Araujo linked to an exit, a large sale can be 'oxygen' for their accounts, according to those in the local media.

This will look for other large sides in Europe for an opportunity. Araujo probably has several lovers in the summer, with an assumed release clause of € 65 million in his contract for the first 15 days of the transfer window. However, one of his defensive teammates seems to receive just as much interest from other parties.

In recent weeks it has been reported that Chelsea is considering breathing new life into Jules Kounde this summer, after he had participated with Barcelona in his relocation of Sevilla of € 50 million. Now Sport says that Arsenal is also interested in the French international.

They note that Arsenal sounded out of his camp in recent months, and that Kounde was willing to leave last summer when an offer came in that all parties were satisfied. They say that Arsenal has promised the new sports director Andrea Berta a larger budget if they beat Real Madrid and reach the semi -final of the Champions League. The Gunners would apparently be willing to go as high as € 75 million for Kounde, although Kounde is now happy under Hansi Flick.

That would certainly seduce Barcelona, who would not only have the chance to make a 50% profit on Kounde, but could also compensate for the majority of the potential loss of the salary limit of their VIP las agreement of € 100 million in one go.

It is clear that Barcelona should come up with a new player on the right back, but they could distribute the costs of a new signing for a number of years, while their accounts would show the full amount of the sale of Kounde in one year. That said, Barcelona reportedly opened conversations with the Frenchman about a new deal.
