Liam delap shining despite the fact that Ipswich is struggling in the Premier League with Chelsea that leads Manchester United in the struggle to sign the English ahead this summer
Chelsea is emerging as a red -hot favorites to sign Liam Delap this summer. Manchester United, Everton, West Ham and Chelsea are all in the mix for the highly rated 22-year-old striker.
But Chelsea's asset could still be manager and so Maresca who worked at the Academy of Manchester City and Kent the former graduate Etihad Academy. That link has been important for ex-city trainee Cole Palmer and Maresca has a reputation for defending young players.
Delap is especially attractive because he has represented England at the top of 21, this season has scored 12 goals for Ipswich since they were promoted to the top flight and proved that he can be a Premier League striker.
But the biggest flag of all is his £ 30 million release clause, because that is considered the price in his contract – and it would be a potential bargain for a young English striker. The deal can be complicated by a sale of the city, but it is unlikely that it will happen this summer that every deal will take place, because there is a lot of demand if Ipswich seems to go.
United View Delap as a young prospect that would strengthen their team and options – but they may have trouble appearing to him for other rivals.
Delap will probably take the next step where he thinks he will get minutes, opportunities and also good coaching and Maresca and his reputation. Maresca even described Delap as 'fantastic' last week and as he begged Nicolas Jackson, he said that England's prospect has the potential to be a large center ahead in the future such as Harry Kane or Erling Haaland.
Ipswich received Delap for £ 15 million last summer and he has been a big hit on Portman Road because of his strength, strength and goals and an air threat. That has attracted a large number of clubs, but Chelsea seems to be in pole position for a movement if they can get it for a bargain price.
Although Delap is being tipped to go on tractor boy's boss Kieran McKenna believes that the player can be convinced to stay. He said to reporters: “It is not something that is discussed internally, because everyone's focus, to be honest, on Bournemouth, on Wolves, is now on Chelsea.
“But if you ask me, is that a possibility? I think it's certainly a possibility. Liam is a young striker. He really develops, very well in the football club. He is happy and he improves every week and we enjoy working with him.
