Barcelona may have to be smart with deals this summer because of their financial problems, and Marcus Rashford can be someone who is. The Manchester United star is currently on loan at Aston Villa, who does have an option to sign it permanently – but for now there is no indications that this will be activated at the end of the season.
Barcelona took a step for Rashford in January, but in the end they were short. But the player did not deter that, who would be very interested in participating in Hansi Flick's Squad for the 2025-26 season.
According to enchanted side, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update about the situation with Barcelona and Rashford, and he has suggested that there is a chance for a deal in the summer.
“Let me tell you that, internally in Barcelona, they still believe that Marcus Rashford could be an option for the summer transfer window.
“They believe in Barcelona that Rashford may be available on the market. They believe in Barcelona that Rashford can be a good solution because he can play as number nine, he can play on the wing, so that he can help in different positions and he is a player who is appreciated by people in Barcelona.
“Barca wanted Rashford already in January. It did not happen because Ansu Fati did not leave, and so in terms of Financial Beurs it was not possible to balance the deal, but Marcus Rashford remains on the Barcelona list.
“If Rashford does not stay in Aston Villa, we will see what is happening because he is one of the options that is considered in Barcelona.”
Barcelona Sporting Director Deco is happy to have signed a new attacker. In particular, he is behind someone to play left wing due to a lack of depth in the position outside Raphinha, and Rashford would certainly fit into the account. But in the end a summer agreement would depend on the requirements of Man United.
