Paddy Pimblett’s new UFC ranking revealed after UFC 314 win as Alexander Volkanovski’s P4P position improves

Paddy Pimblett arrived on Saturday evening in the top ten of the UFC after a horrible company on Michael Chandler.

Fan favorite Pimblett brutalized Chandler in three rounds before cuting him open and finished him on Saturday evening in the Co-Main event of UFC 314. The American was arranged number seven and made a victory over him very valuable.

Elsewhere in the ranking, Alexander Volkanovski returned to the Pond-Voor-Pond top ten after his main event victory on Diego Lopes. And Jean Silva landed for the first time in the ranking at Featherweight with his victory against Bryce Mitchell.

Paddy Pimblett lands the top ten ranking after UFC 314 winning

Paddy Pimblett has entered the top ten of the UFC Lightweight Rankings after his victory over Michael Chandler on Saturday evening. The American was ranked by number seven, but the Brit missed that placement with colleague European Mateusz Gamrot who made that lock.

It is another step in the direction of a world title shot for the scouser who has every next fight under the UFC banner improved and remains unbeaten. He called for fighting with Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira or Arman Tsarukyan after his victory and seems serious about title conflicts.

In the past, Islam Makhachev has even admitted that Pimblett should rock the ranking that he might have to fight to fight him in view of the lack of serious contenders. However, he may have to be confronted with former champion Vederweight Ilia Topuria, who has given up his belt to rise in weight.

Chandler's defeat saw him sink back to the number 12 place that Pimblett has previously held. He has not won in the UFC since 2022 and is 2-5 in the promotion since he made Bellator's move in 2021.

Alexander Volkanovski returns to the top 10 pound-for-pounds

After recovering the featherweight title on Saturday evening, Alexander Volkanovski is back at the top of his division. His knockout losing to Topuria and Makhachev quickly in succession had hurt his pound-for-pound ranking, after once competing for first place.

But an impressive outing against the courageous Lopes saw him rise to number nine as he starts his push back to the top. The lightweight champion remains in the first place, much to Dana White's annoyance while he remains Jon Jones.

Interestingly, the only two men who beat Volkanovski under the UFC banner Makhachev and Topuria ranked respectively at number one and number three pound-for-pounds. If they fight, it would probably be for the top position.
