Carlo Ancelotti approves ‘fantastic’ candidate to replace him as Real Madrid manager

Xabi Alonso announced that he left Bayer Leverkusen this summer after winning the Bundesliga title last year and he will probably replace Carlo Ancelotti as the next manager of Real Madrid

The departing Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has given his support to “Fantastic” Xabi Alonso to replace him in the Bernabeu, with the Italian expecting to leave in the coming weeks. This week Alonso announced that he would leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season and he is being tipped on a large scale to become the next man in the Dugout in Madrid.

Alonso is one of the most wanted managers in football after performing wonders in Leverkusen to deliver their first Bundesliga title in their 119-year history, while also lifting the German cup in the same season.

This season Leverkusen could not touch last season's heights, because they missed the title of Bayern Munich and were beaten from the German cup by the third Nive-Outfit Arminia Bielefeld in the semi-final.

But Alonso is still being recommended to promote his successful management at a larger club and the Spaniard is strongly connected to a switch to his former team.

Recent reports claimed that Alonso had already agreed orally to join Madrid and to sign a deal until 2028, while Acelotti is also supposed to agree his exit.

Although the Italian still has to formally announcing his own exit, he has commented on Alonso after he had heard that he was left Leverkusen and had nothing but praise for the ex-liverpool midfielder.

I saw [Alonso’s announcement]”On Saturday Ancelotti said with the media prior to the El Clasico confrontation of Real Madrid to Barcelona on Sunday.

“I read that he leaves Leverkusen, where he has done fantastic work. All doors are open to him because he has shown to be one of the best coaches in the world.”

Ancelotti -who managed Alonso as Bayern Munich -Baas -will leave Madrid as a legend after winning two La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies in his second spell, after he had already lifted four trophies in his first stint.

He will be a difficult act for Alonso to follow when he eventually becomes the next manager, although he decided to stay silent about his future when announcing his exit. The 43-year-old said: “This week the club and I were agreed that these two games will be my last as Bayer Leverkusen-Coach.

“It is not a moment to talk too much about the future, because for some players we want to say goodbye on Sunday, for myself, and it is the right time to announce it.

“We have to enjoy this moment with mixed emotions. It is emotional, I spoke with the players this morning, the staff, so many people who helped me during an incredible, fantastic three years. This is a moment to share it with the fans in this stadium where I have lived great emotions and I am what I am at the moment.”
