Barcelona celebrated their 125th anniversary on Friday evening, with a grand event organized at the Liceu Theater in the heart of the city, and a number of celebrities were in attendance. They did not include Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi or Pep Guardiola, but the latter did make a memorable contribution.
Guardiola, the prodigal son when it comes to Barcelona and following the lessons of Johan Cruyff, sent a video with a message to the club before the event, as did Lionel Messi. Even more surprising, Guardiola somberly sang “Aniversari” by Manel, a popular Catalan artist. The song is about a birthday party and for some a place for the night.
But not for Nuria Cunillera. Xavi Hernandez was among those in attendance, but it was his partner who stole the show after her reaction to the Manchester City manager's musical intervention went viral. It's fair to say she didn't believe in it.
